清晨一上来，就看见了river的帖子
虽说我们有点"世仇"的味道

说起英文老歌，谁还记得有一个有声的音乐期刊《music heaven》音乐天堂？
刚出的时候是季刊，一本小书和一盘磁带，我听英文歌就是从这份期刊开始的。

是，music heaven 音乐天堂，是中山大学办的
当时是很有风格的一本欧美音乐杂志
后来却渐渐地失去了他自己的味道
有人曾推荐过pop轻音乐这本杂志
可在我这里却看不到几本

今天想介绍的是一个四重唱组合——brothers four

认识他们是在找green sleeves的时候
很可惜，green sleeves下载之后却是无声的，很失望
为了弥补一下自己失落的心，download了它的演唱者的另一首歌
就这样认识了brothers four
很喜欢富有层次感的和声
很喜欢令人有点忧伤的木吉它


Brothers Four ，最经典的歌曲应该算是 "Where have all the flowers gone"。前两天我把这首送给了F兄，这首歌的中文译名是"花落谁家"，很有诗意，但是它要表达的却不是诗意、爱情。
歌词：
Where have all the flowers gone?
Long time passing.
Where have all the flowers gone?
Long time ago.
Where have all the flowers gone?
The girls have picked them ev'ry one.
Oh, when will you ever learn?
Oh, when will you ever learn?
......

这首歌是六十年代著名的反战歌曲，歌词大意是：姑娘们摘取了花朵，小伙子娶了姑娘，小伙子上了战场，最终都到了坟墓。坟墓建在花丛中......
在when will you ever learn?的低吟浅唱当中，他们表达了对战争的厌恶和无奈。

四兄弟原来是五十年代华盛顿大学的学生，他们演唱了许多著名的民谣，流传甚广的还有 "Five Hundred Miles"离家五百里，可惜我没有找到它的下载：

思乡的游子啊，何时你会归来？

四兄弟演唱组还有许多富于哲理的歌，如Beatles的"Let It Be"般思考人生，思考社会。 "Try to Remember"、"The Green Leaves Of Summer"，它们的歌词都表达了对青春易逝年华的感慨。

Try to Remember，看过《玻璃之城》的朋友一定不会陌生。黎明风度翩翩地演唱这首歌，台下舒淇含情脉脉地看着他......
当时看这部电影时，就一直在想，为什么把香港喻为玻璃之城，今年去了香港之后，我明白了......
在香港的街上穿梭，眼前那一片片紧密挨着的海市蜃楼般的摩天大厦
让我觉得置身于一个梦境般的世界，是那样的不真实却又很真切
夜色里，在狭窄的山顶道上，在渐渐起飞的飞机上所看到的香港夜景，我终身难忘

关于brothers four，还流传着这样一个故事：当他们四人在华盛顿大学相遇之后，他们只是经常聚在一起唱歌为乐， “四兄弟”这个名字尚未产生。一天，他们接到了一个电话，改变了他们的一生。电话里说：“我是某某俱乐部的经理秘书，我们经理听过你们的歌，不知道你们可不可以到我们这里来演唱？” 当然可以！他们几个拿上吉他就去来到了这个俱乐部，但是这个电话只是他们一个朋友的玩笑，经理很抱歉让他们跑了一趟，于是坐下来听他们唱了一曲。想不到经理看出了他们的才华，于是将他们留下来，四兄弟演唱组从此产生了。
