Background: I live in the US and I have been on ETV for half year. Before that I had 2 years of LMV. I switched to ETV even I did not have LMV mutation. It will be too late to change to ETV If I wait until LMV mutation develops - based on a most recent report on ETV.
Suggestion: My doctor is a liver specialist in a famous university in the US. He does not recommend stop ETV even I can. He recommends taking ETV forever until I may have a HbsAg seroconversion - in fact that is the only hope for a "cure", if there is one. If you can afford, you should also follow his advise.
Another note: I asked him about Pegasys. Interestingly he did not recommend using that. "Pegasys will not cure HBV, but cause a lot more side effects. It lowers your quality of life so is not worthy". I tend to agree.
I think ETV is the best choice (and everyone's) so . |
