Michelangelo was only 25 when he carved his great solution to these difficulties. To have arrived at something sculpturally convincing out of such a complicated theological recipe would have been achievement enough. But the novice from Florence did more than that.

The Pieta is the most detailed and finished of his important carvings, a work that repays the closest inspection. It is the only work Michelangelo ever signed. It features his most tender and beautiful portrait of a woman; and if you are ever able to get yourself into a position to look down properly on this slumped Christ, you will see that this Jesus is as handsome a male figure as Michelangelo came up with as well. The David is easier to see, and more obviously imposing, but the process of idealization has robbed him of some of his corporeality. The slumped physicality of this Christ, however, is almost miraculous. Look for instance at the squashed muscles of his right arm.

　　Xia is the first prehistoric dynasty. From about the twenty-first to the sixteenth century B.C, scientific excavations were made at early bronze-age sites at Anyang, Henan Province.
　　 In regard to the Xia,it was difficult to separate myth from reality.By now, archaeologists have uncovered urban sites, bronze implements, and tombs that point to the existence of Xia civilization in the same locations cited in ancient Chinese historical texts. At minimum, the Xia period marked an evolutionary stage between the late neolithic cultures and the typical Chinese urban civilization of the Shang dynasty
