Hi. everyone:
I want to share my own experience here. I was diagnosed with chronic hbv this summer. Now I am having antiviral treatment (tenofovir, started on 19sep2011) . I will post my test results later for every one to reference. Let's fight hbv together.
I have got my engineering phd in a US university. I am now working (data analysis) in a big US pharm company(not Gilead, nor GSK).
I have never tested on hbv while I was attending school, applying for the job. The only test I did were drug test (to make sure that I was not using heroin) after I got the job offer and before I actually start working. I do not feel any 歧视 in US. Actually my medical condition is my own private information, only I and my doctor could access it.
This year while I was doing the annual physical check I mentioned to my doctor that some time I feel tired aroud early afternoon. My doctor is a Korean and she suggested me to test for hbv because she said that hbv is very prevalent in Asian. That is the time I found out that I have hbv.
