Your history well illustrates the pitfalls in
consulting a doctor who has inadequate knowledge
about Hep B probably because he doesnt see the
disease often.
There is no HBV infected person who is a "healthy
carrier" , you may be symptom free but still have
liver disease.
You do not seem to have active HBV infection right
now but you should have ALT,HBV-DNA and
alphafetoprotein done.
You and your entire family should have a full work
up on HBV from a doc who treats Hep B .Your family
history indicates transmission of HBV at birth and
makes you more at risk for liver cancer.
