Years have past but I still remember you like yesterday.
I still think of it like today.
Your gentle laugh sounds like music.
Your words so wise and comforting.
Why did you leave me?
Where are you now?
How can I find someone as sweet
And as great as you?
There is not a person in the crowd
That I can compare to you.
You were my
My best friend.
I know that I should not dwell
On the past but how can I not?
How can I forget about you,
The person that kept me alive?
You were the sun shining on me everyday.
The star that led me to the right place,
The sky that seems to protect me from all painful things,
And the one person who could make me smile even during the toughest times.
Youre gone now.
You took the lovely sunshine,
The stars that led my way,
The sky that shielded me from discomfort
And the ways you made me smile.
The world turned dark in through my eyes.
I am still blinded by the pain,
And the tears still fall from my eyes.
All I can think about is the loss of my friend.
After all these years a powerful light comes along.
Who is it?
What is it?
It’s another friend.
One that can never compare to the one I lost but it’s someone who is there.
The birds start to sing.
The sky turns a cloudless light blue.
I feel my tears of misery turn to tears of joy
For I realize I am not alone.
This isnt the end for me.
There is still more of life to live.
Its time to move on.
It's time to stop my mourning and let myself smile again.
The doors of joy have opened for me again.
I still look back and think of my loss of you
But now I understand
It all.
You wouldn’t want me to suffer of your loss
You would want to see me live life happy and
Not miss the things that you didn’t have a chance
To do.
Your death was tragic.
Your death brought me pain
But there is also a lesson
behind all this.
You dying taught me
To cherish life,
To tell my friends how much
I love them.
