I am a new associate in Timken of China,because I scare that my supervisor will know that I tell you the information so I use my own email to send information to you. what I will tell you is that the serious discrimination of Hepatitis B patient even Hepatitis B carrier in China.

In China XX and XXX  plant, i can not sure XxX plant. Physical examination for employee is necessary before entering Timken, if employee has hepatitis B virus, who will be rejected to hire. In annual Physical examination, if associate has been checked out he/she has hepatitis B virus, he/she will be fired. Becasue in China HR have misunderstanding of infection way of Hepatitis B, People think the common contact can infect Hepatitis B, So HR always reject hepatitis B carrier.

In China, there are about 120 Million Hepatitis B carrier, and it is illegal to examine HBV item from Jan.1st 2008, peacebreaker will be punished for 1000 Yuan every time. Because 1000yuan is so litte, Company do not obey the law.  In many famous Companies in China like Intel, Nokia, IBM, Microsoft,GM etc do not discriminate Hepatitis B carrier. So I hope Timken can also treat all associates equally.

I suggest as follows:
1. Stop to examine any HBV item when entering company or annual Physical examination, the annual physical examniation result should be only knew by himself, HR have no right to know the result.
2. Hepatitis B is only infected by blood,latex and sex, daily contact cannot be infected including shaking hand, eating together and so on. This knowlegde should be given to all the associates in China especially HR department. The XXX Plant docotor, XXX even even thinks the sweat can infect HBV and he also rejects hypertension patient to join in Timken.
3.Vaccine should be injected for all associates.

真的取消了??!!太棒了,你给了我信心,我也准备给我们公司的美国总裁写信,希望也能取消2.5的体检及歧视!!

Dear Sir / Madam,

I am HBV carrier in China.  I applied for a position in Nokia Beijing.

Before I read the news that a HBV carrier was refused by Nokia Dongguan in Southern part of China, I thought Nokia to be a MNC with strong sense of responsibility to the society and people, and would not hold that discrimination to our HBV carriers.  However, the news really makes me worry about my application to Nokia Beijing.

I am keenly wondering if I could pass all the interviews and get the offer eventually, would I be refused by Nokia Beijing for the same reason as the HBV carrier in Dongguan?  If it is, I will cease my application as it would be a waste of time.  And maybe in the future, I would not buy any Nokia products as I would be really hurt for this case.

There are over 1.2 million HBV carriers in China.  They are enduring great discrimination in their job hunting.  The entrance medical check prevent many outstanding HBV carriers from being hired.  Relevant medical check regarding HBV has been cancelled in many countries, as far as I know at least in US, Canada, Japan and Korea.  I am not very clear about the situation in Finland, do you have such check specially against HBV?
