CORPORATE COUNSEL

This is a corporate counsel position based in Taiwan or China, depending on the candidate, with principal focus on Taiwan and China.  This position will work closely with the legal team in the U.S. and throughout Asia. This position will report to the Director of Legal Affairs, Asia-Pacific.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as a primary point of contact on all legal matters within geography;
Prepare, review, negotiate all contracts including employment, sales, marketing, consulting, IT, telecom, service, procurement, license and lease agreements;
Provide basic training on legal issues including confidentiality, competition, marketing, anti-bribery, advertising, privacy, labor and intellectual property;
Enforce processes to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and corporate policies;
Manage legal risk with respect to local law and business practices and relevant commercial disputes;
Support corporate governance, secretarial and record keeping functions, formation and dissolution of relevant local corporate entities;
Manage and develop relationships with outside counsel

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILES
Exceptional interpersonal and communication (verbal, written, presentation) skills
Strong multicultural literacy skills with ability to interface with colleagues worldwide, at all levels of organization
Analytical, innovative, strategic thinker and problem solver with excellent business judgment
Demonstrated ability to multitask while balancing risk avoidance with solution focused advice
Organized, detailed-oriented, results driven, highly self-motivated, thrives under pressure
Committed to consistently exceed client expectations
Proven track record with technology industry in U.S., China and/or Taiwan
Combined law firm and in-house experience, with at least  2 years of experience working in a U.S. based corporate legal environment
J.D., LL.B. plus LL.M. from U.S. law school, or equivalent common or civil law degree(s)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
5+ years of experience
Admission to PRC or Taiwan Bar
Fluency in Mandarin and English (written and verbal)
