极负盛名的Neo-classical/Speed Metal名团Stratovarius，真可说是芬兰人的骄傲！1984年成立于芬兰赫尔辛基的Stratovarius没有因为不停的人员更替而频繁变化自己的音乐风格。最初的乐队成员是： drummer and vocalist Tuomo Lassila, bass player John Viherv?and guitarist Staffan Str录lman。Timo Tolkki于随后一年加入乐队担任主唱。
1987年，乐队完成了第一盘样带，里面收录了“Future Shock”、“Fright Night”和“Night Screamers”。之后，键盘手Antti Itkonen加入乐队。
1995年的欧洲、日本巡演中，乐队加入了新鼓手F6rg Michael(Running Wild成员)和新键盘手Jens Johansson(Yngwie Malmsteen band和Dio成员)。《Fourth Dimension》成功后，Timo Tolkki和Timo Kotipelto决定发展乐队的音乐方向。新鼓手J鰎g Michael和新键盘手Jens Johansson加入乐队。以Timo Tolkki高超快速流畅的吉他、Jens Johansson优美的键盘和Jorg Michael精准狂踩的双大鼓，加上团员们"Keep melody in Metal!"的一贯心愿，短短几年內便快速地累积人气，並掳获广大乐迷们的心，成功地建立起属于Stratovarius的霸业！
