We are inviting anyone interested to come to the Workshop at the Rainlane Treasure Island English Corner to participate in translating parts of 中国十大城市美眉排行榜 into English.

This is strictly for fun. There is no advance academic challenge involve, but I must say that translating it well will take a bit of work and ingenuity. This is not a competition; no prize is awarded. You can try one, a few, part of one, or just dish out friendly criticism and constructive opinions--all of which are very much appreciated.

When this was put up at www.cn-trans.com as an exercise, the participants discussed this term at length. Several possibilities were put forth. There is a problem with their storage space.

The very reason that the segment was chosen as an exercise was because of the difficulty in translating some of the description. The topic looks non-academic, harmless and innocent, but getting it right is not as easy as it looks. However, we are not doing this only for fun, so the spectre of not getting it completely right is not going to deter us from trying.
