I have tried google earth and found my hometown with well-known geographical landmarks. What's more, in the US part even revenues and restaurants can be labeled on it. I'm really astonished at google's technology.

Actually Google is recruiting (stealing) more people now days from Microsoft, and it even put up an office building within five miles from Microsoft main office. The new building’s main job is to seek people from Microsoft. Google scares Bill Gates so much that he is on a mission to build a Google killer. People saying that a “Google Office” program from MS is inevitable.

I heard that one former leader in microsoft has joined google, who is a chinese and now sued by microsoft. Why is google so aggressive? Microsoft now becomes the victim[em02], whereas other companies are victims before. Poor BIll Gates.

Dr Li Kai Fu, Microsoft's vice president , will become the chief executive of Google China, and be responsbile for the operation of the Google research center opening in the third quarter.

Google's surprising annoucement has offended Microsoft, the biggest software maker in the world. It has already submited litigation (lawsuit/legal action) of violating the non-competition promise to the district court of the State of Washington. Microsoft said Li should be forbidden to be recruited by its main competitor according to the promise he made before. (Li, as a VP of Microsoft, is very fimilar with Microsoft’s search technology and Chinese market strategy)

Google's last trade price is 309.9 USD, while Microsoft 's is 26.16 USD. Compare the two prices, you will find who is the hero in a new era, Google's stock price shows people's expectation as a new Nasdaq noble.

Could I say Microsoft's era has passed?

Though google has striking performance in stock market, its profit cannot rival that of microsoft and has far less line of products. So I doubt its ability of driving microsoft out of dominance.

Its supporters point out that Google is no concept stock. Unlike pre-millennial Internet darlings, Google makes money. But parallels with the late 1990s should make investors wonder whether there is more room above today's price than below it.

John Doerr (Google board member and investor) was once referred to in Forbes as the man Bill Gates fears most.

The corporate culture between the two camps couldn't be more opposite. Google, I'm thinking inherently good while Microsoft inherently evil - I don't have to go into history or explain this to state the obvious.

However, the latest news from Reuters indicated that MSN is trying to buy Google out.

Reuters is a VERY credible news service. If MS really wants to buy, the owners of Google can be expected to sell in a heartbeat. Makes sense for Microsoft. They like being dominant, and now they will dominate Internet searching.

Yahoo! has bought Inktomi, MS figures it might as well own a search provider too. Google will soon be a MS subsidiary, and power MSN search. Well someone says the Google's quality would go down the drain... they can't wait until MS-Google releases their weekly "patches" for their ToolBar/etc.!

Considering Microsoft has more money than God, Remember, Bill Gates could buy Google for what to him is pocket change. I'd say if this report is true Google will soon be a subdiary of Microsoft. We will see, and if it becomes turn then, Dr Li will have to search for another job?
