     Anything seen through an arch is instantly picturesque.
Why keep hoping things will speak for themselves,
without your aid? The small wish for a tableau. The sunset
might well bear you off on its pulleys of delight,the buildings
are still strewn vacantly around the square. But you know
what to frame. You know how to count. Arch flowing into
arch flowing into arch, and through the last arch, what was
dumb will speak. After all,it is the halos that tell us who the
saints are. Rows of poplars: somewhere,a river, and workers
bathing. Won''''t it all be laid out for you in sequence in the
end, what has truly fallen into your frame? And everything
else, the ungroomed land, the dead tea-roses, the body
moving out of the shot. Who wouldn''''t be sentimental, given
half the chance.

    透过拱门，你看到的任何事物，都是一片美丽的即时风景。你又怎能期待，没了你的帮助，这美景会主动向你倾诉？
    轻轻地期待着，一个生动的画面：巨大滑轮般的夕阳，逐渐离你远去，房屋点缀在空旷的广场旁……
    于是，你知道怎样去取景，怎样去构图。拱门幽深，穿过那最后的一个，你了解了美景的语言。毕竟，是光环指点着圣徒的所在。
    成行的白杨吗？而或某处的一条河，劳作之后的人们畅游其中——并不是万物都会因你而有了顺序，有又什么会真正定格在你的画面中？
    依旧是万物啊——蛮荒的田野，枯萎的玫瑰，枪林弹雨中矫健的身躯……谁又能不为之感动，而不被给予那稍纵即逝的机会呢？

实在不能理解透彻，只好生搬硬套的译出来。

光环一句：
After all,it is the halos that tell us who the saints are.
直译是否得当，是否另有深意呢？
