Journal Summary
In this study, the distribution and characteristics of ‘grey zone (GZ)’ in a large cohort of chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients were explored. Researchers included a total of 4,759 consecutive treatment‐naïve CHB patients. In this analysis, distributions of different immune states included 233 (4.90%) patients in the immune‐tolerant phase, 941 (19.77%) patients in the HBeAg‐positive immune active phase, 1,717 (36.08%) patients in the inactive phase, and 546 (11.47%) patients in HBeAg‐negative immune active phase. The outcomes of this research demonstrate that more than a quarter of CHB individuals were divided into the GZ and a high proportion of individuals in GZ‐B had advanced fibrosis or even cirrhosis. |
