I wish government officials, especially those working in Chinese embassies overseas, would be taught the same etiquette. They never reply to your email and they never give explanations. If you look Chinese, all embassy officials expect you to have a Chinese name, read, write, and speak fluent Chinese, even though you may be 2nd, 3rd generation Chinese.
All Chinese kids to be taught etiquettePosted 9 hours 45 minutes ago China has ordered all school children to undergo etiquette lessons. Teachers will be required to teach primary school students about respecting elders and proper table manners.
Middle-schoolers will learn how to hold polite conversations, be courteous to others, dress properly, and how to handle email, and text-messaging correspondence.
In high school, the basics of polite one-on-one conversation, adequate grooming and standing in orderly queues will be taught.
The guidelines have been posted on the Chinese education ministry's website.
