好羡慕你是伟大国家澳大利亚的有尊严的公民啊.
A reader asks me about "health card" overseas, so I gave him the situation in Australia. I am not boasting that Australia is perfect. I want the reader to know that a person's health status is private information between him and his doctor only. This is a basic human right, not a privilege. So, what's happening in China in the matter of "health card" is against his human rights. I am trying to tell readers that this is what Chinese should demand for themselves, and not because I want to mock the Chinese.
If you "swim" to Australia, I would welcome you personally and the Australian government will consider your request to stay in Australia. I would prefer you to fight for your rights in China.
As for why I post here, the reason is very simple - I want to help:
1. When I discovered the systemic discrimination against Chinese citizens with Hepatitis B in China, I wanted to help. I did what I can from here in Australia. This is a story I don't have to reveal here.
2. In the last 12 months, I saw a gradual, albeit very slow, improvement in the discrimination front, thanks to effort by people like Lu Jun,雷闯、锄草, Cheung Wen, and many others, I changed my focus and started to read about medical treatments for HBV in China.
3. I saw a lot of despair and hopelessness - no cure, early death, no girl/boy friends, no marriages etc - all due to ignorance. So I started to post about the latest medical research in treatments for HBV to show forum readers that treatment is already here, it will control the progression of the disease, enabling all to live a normal life span. Also I want to show a cure is around the corner.
4. Lately I also turned my attention to the medical advices given on the forum. I found some are very good, especially those who followed the international guidelines. But I also found a lot of wrong information and advices. These are doing more harm than good. So I started the debates with Dr Wang and anyone who gave ignorant and wrong information and advices.
5. All these I can do only with the help of Google Translate as I went to study overseas when I was young.
6. As a result of pointing out the ignorant and wrong information from a few people, I attracted some attention and upset some persons. They are beginning to retaliate. I don't mind, I enjoy a fair debate and I enjoying upsetting "experts" who are ignorant and yet offer their wrong advices freely to those desperate readers needing help.
7. So, if just one person benefits from my posts, I am happy and will continue to do so.
8. I do post on the English & English forum, interesting stories and news that Icome across. I try to engage readers who replied to my posts in English by starting a conversation with them. English, Chinese, who cares, as long as we can communicate.
End of story.
