Finally, I got to know the details of that:
HR manager together with director of each department had an individual interview with each employee, each employee had 15~30 minutes interview whenever you would be layed off or not, employee were tolded to leave office and go home after interview whenever you had job or not. Each employee who was layed off can get about N+6 or N+7 months full salary as compensation, for example, if you had worked 6 years in our company, you can get 12 or 13 months salary if you were layed off. Nobody knew who were layed off except they backed to office the day of next.
