Bic Runga来自纽西兰，生于纽西兰基督城  (Christchurch)，  父亲Joseph为毛利人(Maori)，母亲Sophia为中国人(原姓邓)，小时受她两个姐姐Boh和Pearl的影响，爱上写歌和乐器。后被发掘而签约Sony  Music五年，于1997年推出首张专辑  《Drive》，推出后旋即在纽西兰达到三白金销量，并在当地的Tui  Awards连夺四大奖。  Bic擅长作曲作词，并懂演奏多种乐器，包括吉他、钢琴、鼓等，在两张专辑中均有显露其音乐才华，不但负责全碟曲词及编曲，亦亲自演奏乐器，  将她最真的一面透过曲词流露出来。   

如果说音乐人是在用灵感创作音乐，那么她正是在用自己的声音来创作。听她的音乐，总的感觉是非常清新，有临家女孩初恋的淡淡喜悦和忧愁的感觉，又如乡村山野初夏清晨的凉快，心情随着她的音乐舒缓而悠扬。
