A Retrospective Analysis of Tenofovir DF and Entecavir inPatients with Chronic Hepatitis B (CHB) and Previous Treatment Failure (PTF).
Conclusions
1. Combination entecavir and tenofovir DF treatment was effective in treating PTF (previous Treatment Failure) patients.
-Combination therapy was exceptionally well tolerated, with 4 adverse events associated with combination therapy due to a change increatinine clearance/GFR.
-All but one renal change resolved after dose adjustmentswere performed.
2. TDF+ETV Combo treatment was found to be more effective(as measured by time to DNA negativity) than ETV monotherapy.
-Analysis of medium time to DNAnegativity for both groups using non-parametric testing (Kruskal-Wallis) foundthe difference between the two arms to be significant at the 0.017 level.
