一个婴儿问上帝,“他们说你明天要把我送到尘世去了。可是我这么弱小无助，我怎么在那里生活啊？”上帝说：“你的天使将等待你并照顾你。”
婴儿进一步问：“你看，在这儿的天堂里我除了唱歌和微笑，什么也不用做。” 上帝说:“你的天使将为你唱歌、对你微笑。你将感受天使对你的爱，你将会非常幸福。”
婴儿又问：“可是人们对我说话的时候，我怎么才能明白呢？我又不懂他们的语言。”上帝说：“你的天使将对你讲你从未听过的最甜美的词汇。而且，你的天使会非常耐心细致地教会你说话。”
“可是，我想跟你说话的时候该怎么办呢？” 上帝说：“你的天使将把你的手合拢并教你如何祷告。”
“谁保护我？” 上帝说：“你的天使会保护你，哪怕舍命，在所不惜。”
“但是我会始终难过，因为我再也看不见你了” 上帝说：“你的天使总是会跟你谈起我并教你如何找到我。虽然如此，我其实一直与你同在。”
这时天堂宁静，但是尘世传来声响。孩子慌忙要求道：“上帝，如果我现在就要离开，请告诉我天使的名字。” 上帝说：“你将径直开口叫她‘妈妈’。”

A newborn's conversation with God.
A baby asked God, "They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?" God said,
"Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you."
The child further inquired, "But tell me, here in heaven I don't have to do anything but sing and smile to be happy." God said,"Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you. And you will feel your angel's love and be very happy."
Again the child asked, "And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me if I don't know the language?" God said,
"Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak."
"And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?" God said,
"Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray."
"Who will protect me?" God said,"Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life."
"But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore."
God said, "Your angel will always talk to you about Me and will teach you the way to come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you."
At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, "God, if I am to leave now, please tell me my angel's name." God said, "You will simply call her, "Mom."
