There will always be a generation gap, and while it may seem to grow larger and larger with every passing year, we can try and bridge it ourselves within our own families.m The essence of that is communication!
Having a genuine interest in the feelings and activities of those younger and older than you can be nothing but positive. Instead of calling grandma “old-fashioned” or archaic when she disagrees, try to see it from her perspective. Then, let her read this article so perhaps she can remove the blinders and see things from your point of view, as well.
While it is a reality we must all deal with in our own lives, communication is the key to maintain close relations between those of different generations. In the not too distant future, those of us now in high school, college and working will be making the decisions that take society further within the 21st century. And while there will be bumps along the road, it’s going to be a great ride. Above all else and no matter what anyone says, choose a career and lifestyle that will make you happy. If you truly have a passion for something and want it so much that you can taste it, then you will be successful.
