Hum, now you are talking (in English). Else, people think you invited them to chat in Chinese. hehe. Well, I don’t give a damn about your sexual preferences. Who care if you are a gay, a lesbian or straight? I am not gay, but your attitude towards the gay people sucks. Gay people should not be treated as second-class citizens, as everyone knows that we are all about freedom, equality, and tolerance. I would imagine that if I had blamed the attack on fat people there would have been much more of an outcry than there was about this. Same thing applies to Hepatitis B people. The fact is, no-one would ever think of talking about fat people in this way, but it is a common attitude towards gay people, especially in China; also common attitude towards Hepatitis B patient that they are somehow less than human, unclean and plain old fashioned evil for "choosing" this "lifestyle", or “diseased” and “infectious” and that it is a reasonable position to hold that they not be afforded the same rights as other people. None of this is to say that people, including children, don't single out people for abuse on the basis of other factors--d'uh--only that the prejudice against homosexuals is of a different order. You know very well I was placing your reference to against “rainbow sashes” in context. Your comment gave people to understand that the English & English Forum had people like you refused to talk because they were gay or because of their sexual preference or their color of skin, sex, and origin? That's not right and you know it. |
