Take it or leave it. It was only a joke and nothing intended to be offensive and serious. Else, "Reader's Digest" has always several sections of humor/joke or Laugh Lines.

Last month I went to a small countryside for vacation, that is really a lonely place, but people there are very nice...

The place I live has a population a little over one hundred thousand; at night and during the weekend it looks like a ghost town. However, I like live here as I don’t like the big city traffic, smog, crowded streets, and high crime rate; here it has better public schools, cooler weather, even the auto insurance costs less than those who living in the big city. Besides, I am able to walk or ride bike to work.

although you pay auto insurece for less, but the grocery in small town is more expensive than that in metropolis.

The biggest bonus is the fresh air... friendly people... less crime
