It means incase of a divorce, the assets were divided strictly 50%-50% between husband and wife. It may even applies to asstes the couple accumulated in other non-cummnunity property state before they moved to California.

I suffer from chronic apathy, I was going to go see a docter about it, but I didn\'t really care.

In other words, only asset accumulated AFTER the marriage is split 50/50 between the couple if there is a divorce. Therefore, buy a home before you get married and settle in California. [em02 ]However, if you expect the home loan to exceed the home value in the next few years, get married first and then come to California to pick up a home. Allas klar? [em06]
