澳大利亚学者Van der Poorten等[13]通过一项对青少年肝病和亚临床肝病患病率的研究发现,95%的正常男性受试者(BMI正常、低密度脂蛋白胆固醇正常及甘油三酯正常)的ALT值处于28U/L以下,而高于这一上限就有肝病的危险因素了。采用他们提出的新ALT ULN值,有76名ALT异常。这一结果提高了对HCV病毒血症检出的敏感性(80%比40%),由此表明,青少年ALT正常标准的重新界定可以提高诊断青少年早期肝病的敏感性,通过发现与HBV、HCV及肥胖相关的肝病患者,提早有目的地进行干预可降低未来肝病的发病率。
